Over the years the work I have done has had the honour of being documented or written about in several books. These range from academic texts, novels of fiction or works of nature writing. I’ve been lucky to work with many extraordinary wordsmiths and share my journeys songs and nature experiences with some very special and articulate people. Maybe this was what spurred me on to write my own book, who knows?

Reek Roon: A Campfire2009

The last novel by my mentor and teacher Stanley Robertson and a wonderful telling of tales around the Traveller Campfires. Best selling author Natasha Solomons wrote this book inspired by my work as a song collector and even named the title after my unusual habit of collecting songs.

Chief rock and pop music writer for The Times Newspaper, Will Hodgkinson wrote this colourful ramble on 21st Century folk music and devoted a chapter to my exploits in my earlier days working at Cecil Sharp House
